This is what I end up doing with a litlle twist.
I do:
CHGAUT OBJ('/qsys.lib/mylib.lib/myobject.*') AUTL(*NONE)

I use the "*" for the object type because this command will be used on several 
types of object and I do not know of a way to compute the IFS notation for 
different types of object (*PGM = .PGM, *FILE = .FILE ....)
