John

I have used journalling, with "both" images and commitment control since it
first
came out on the System/38 - many years ago. I did some tests then but found
that
the impact on performance was small. I have not kept the test results. I
journalled all my files to one journal and still do, but I have rather less
files
than most applications. Since I started using journalling, I have never had to
restore any data because of corruption. I know that a lot of installations do
not use journalling because of the myth that is the subject of your discussion
and that has been around for some time, but, IMHO, they need their heads
testing!

Best wishes
