Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't Outlook 97 filter by message body
contents?
The rule could scan the body for "This is the Midrange System Mailing
List!".
Sure it will use more CPU to filter the message, but it's time you save for
not reorganizing messages.

Also consider using Outlook Express, the 5.5 version has a filter for "TO or
CC". Maybe the 5.0 has it too, but the 4.0 definitely doesn't.
One more useful feature is the "Group messages by conversation" View.
But that would mean downloading MSIE too :-(
