There isn't an easy way, especially for lots of special values, but some values are easy for the CLP to work out... in your example: If (&jobd = '*USRPRF') RTVUSRPRF JOBD(&JOBD) JOBDLIB(&JOBDLIB) A more difficult example would be specifying the jobq, where you might want the special value of *JOBD or specify a real jobqlib/jobq... since there is no RTVJOBD command, you can't work out what JOBQ(*JOBD) really means. In that case the simplest way is to use two SBMJOBs, or build the command into a field and use QCMDEXC. There are other ways... but probably not worth the effort for a one-off program. > Is there no way to code this with > only a single SBMJOB statement ? Must there be two SBMJOB > statements coded > in the CL ... one to be executed if *JOBD = *USRPRF, the other if not, +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
