Yeah, that's just it, no _apparent_ problems. Fortunately, this is just a development machine, not much more than coding, compiling, testing, and passthrough to other AS/400s. If at A-IPL any temporary LIC fixes are installed, the panel indicator is immediately switched to B, but it is actually misleading. I'm not 100% sure, but I strongly suspect that if in these circumstances you run PWRDWNSYS IPLSRC(*PANEL), IPL will still run from ##MACH#A. I witnessed a few situations when at a CUM package installation the system would IPL just once effectively staying at A. If you've been running the system with no apparent problems for 6 months, there is no reason to add any new PTFs. You may end up having more problems re-IPLing from B. But all this is just speculation.
