Excepting one fact more, Jim.

The word now is that the AS/400 and OS/400 comes in giant size too. The
largest AS/400 is larger than the largest 390. So, you can go from the
smallest server to the largest, all on OS/400.

Did anyone besides me watch the Real Player movie about the discussion?

The main point they made was that to go from a lower end business (AS/400)
to a higher end business (IBM Mainframe) you have to change operating
systems.
(0S400 to OS360 ???). In and of itself this is fairly true.

I would not agree with the fact that you can't do anything with an AS/400.

Perhaps in the past that may have been true, but now the AS/400 has pretty
much become a full network server.

So, I would agree with half of what the article said.

Jim Langston

Chuck,

These guys obviously don't know what they're talking about. Agreed,
we need to let them know and they should be forced to print a retraction.

Thanks,
  Ted

And read on. The REAL pisser part is the "Both Caray and Menzies
highlighted problems users have migrating from the AS/400 platform"

It FIGURES it is on an Oracle slanted site but we have GOT to figure out
how to get in on this "Behind the Scenes" deal if at all possible and
dispell this GARBAGE !
