Al,

We have had a lot of luck with the Guardian Firewall from Netguard (
www.ntguard.com ). Yes, we also resell it.

It is especially good for AS/400 shops because if has special client
authentication features that allow green screen users to TELNET in without
forcing you to open up the TELNET port to the world. This feature ALONE
was a clear differentiater against the AS/400 firewall.

WRT your questions ...

- Cost varies with features ... Basic FW itself is $2,480 for 25 users to
$8,980 for unlimited users. It runs on a Win NT / 2000 client system. A
FREE version for up to 5 users is downloadable from their web site.
- We've used it ourselves for over 4 years & are very happy with it
- It's not difficult to configure, but most of our customers have one of
our techs do the initial install & user training (especially if they are
using some of the more advanced features). With security, you've got to
get it right! Most security problems come from people who don't totally
know what they are doing (even on a "secure" machine like the AS/400).

Give me a call if you want more details ...

John
