Lexmark(ex-IBM) still makes a fine printer and I believe it gets 
better support from IBM than other models. Their newer series of 
laser printers are excellent but if HP is your favorite, why change.

With all the newer connection methods available, I believe I would 
have at least one printer that attaches via twinax. If you pay 
attention to this list or any of the questions on news groups,
printing questions are a very popular thread. I very seldom, if
ever, see major problems with a twinax attached printer. TCP/IP
attached printers continue to dominate the "problem" areas.

I am from the "keep the s*** simple" school of thought.
