Can your network techies bounce it back from the firewall or something?

As of today we have configured SMTP to route to a
remote DNS and SMTP server outside of our building.
Both DSN and SMTP are located in an other city.
We do have an internal DNS but do not have a SMTP
server. At the moment all of the e-mails sent from
AS/400 are routed outside to the SMTP server and then
come back if pointing to our local domain.
I would like to route the emails that point to our
local domain, internally without going outside to the
SMTP server while all the emails that point to a
domain that is not our domain must be routed to SMTP
server outside.
How can I achieve this ?
