I agree that you should get ironclad guarantees to back up the salesman's hype.

The problems you describe are usually associated with printing via TCP/IP. I
believe they were largely solved with later versions of OS/400. On our V3R2
box, we have the Konica 7033 and are able to get page rotation to work, but I
have to use a special home-grown utility to get page range and copies to
"work".

Does your IBM InfoPrint/40 connect via twinax or TCP/IP or ?

My earlier comments on using multi-function devices as AS/400 printers still
stands.

it sounds good BUT...do not agree to pay for anything until you verify that it
will work with the 400...I experienced a similar situation with
KONICA...after 1 year and several visits by multiple konica people and lots
of my time...I threw it all out and went with an IBM InfoPrint/40. Konica
(via a magic black box) could not get things like number of copies, page
ranges, rotation, and all sorts of things that the 400 supports to
work....try it, but don't buy it until you see it work

Subject: Experiences with Minolta AS/400 Interface?

One of my customers is looking to replace all his sundry laser printers
and copiers with 4 Minolta copiers and a magic box Minolta is marketing.
The box connects to the AS/400 via LAN, and supports SCS, IPDS, and AFP.
One box will drive up to 64 copiers as printers also via the LAN.

Sounds like a pretty cool box. Anybody out there with any experience
with this box?
