I would have a very difficult time subscribing if I couldn't get it in
digest mode.  The volume is tremendous.  Although my email client handles
HTML, the list server program doesn't - it passes the HTML as text when it
"digestifies" the messages.  I think this is a big reason for the "no HTML"
clause.
