Eons ago when we relocated our HQ, and moved our S/36 5360, and IBM hooking it up, there was a problem with hard drive one & IBM could not run diagnostics because the security was on the hard drive that we could not get to. Apparently there is a way for IBM maintenance to circumvent security, but they needed a letter from a high mucky muck of the customer computer on their letter head to have permission to do this. Fortunately my boss was present when this problem was discovered & he qualified & also we still had an old manual typewriter, but I think his PC was available. I do not know if AS/400 same kind of reality.
