We have a Display Executable Objects to *OUTFILE that refreshes the copy each 
nite & one of the functions is so Query/400 users can use a query to view all 
the queries we have, alphabetized by name of query, then pick the one they 
want to run, then take another menu option which is CL with RUNQRY & they key 
in the query that they found on the alphabetical list as the one they 
interested in.  

I originally created this so that people who had been on vacation for 2 
weeks, or sick, or came off a major project ... I could show them a list of 
all the new software we had created & all the modifications implemented since 
they were last connected.  I also had at the back of my mind that some day 
management might like to see some report on what I have been up to.  I have 
been promoting its usage with respect to reports the auditors look at each 
year ... they ought to be told which have been changed since they were here 
last time.  Also we have been trying to wean klutzes off of WRKQRY.

We have had some people commenting that it is a great shame that co-workers 
created some great queries & they are being grossly underutilized.  I suspect 
/ hope that the rules are consistent within type of object - queries - 
programs I wrote - etc. but there are some variations in date remembered.  I 
am now at home again without access to our 400 so not sure which is which now.

One type of object has a CREATE date when it was originally created & a 
CHANGE date when someone modified it & most of our query/400 has a change 
date in September when we started using this tool & hundreds got their 
description tweaked to make it easier for people using this tool.  Older ones 
have a change date of December 1999 when we replaced our AS/400 box & copied 
stuff ... the copies kept the create date but the change date became the date 
of arrival on the new box.

We have a ton of other objects whose CREATE date is when the backup tape from 
the old box was restored to the new box.

I interpret the last USED date as when someone actually executed the software 
& I notice that some activities such as LOOKING at *QRYDFN without actually 
changing anything leaves these dates intact.

We have some reports on spool that get reprinted & F21-intermediate F11 walk 
around shows the spool tracks date of creation & date last used.

Summary

USED = Used by a User like executing the program or reprinting the report.
CHANGED = programmer recompiled this thing or someone changed a query
CREATED = when its life started
