They sure liked using the word "legacy" when referring to the AS/400. They should look up the meaning. too bad they don't mention the model of AS/400 they were using. I wonder if a windows machine will ever last long enough to be called legacy? And their storage grows at 5GB a week. That means that since 1995, if they started at zero, would have 1.3TB divided by 15 machines is 86GB per machine (unless my calculator is bust). Still getting sub-second access. I woner why we can't get that on only a few hundred Meg on our SQL servers. Hmmm... They can't be talking about their websites. I know that's not sub-second. I wonder if MS is feeling the power of the iSeries e-Server AS/400 Midrange System Application e-Lou Server? > -----Original Message----- > From: Terry.Rhoades@blum.com [mailto:Terry.Rhoades@blum.com] > Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2001 7:13 AM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: AS/400s Extinct at Microsoft > > > > I wonder if MS is using the "super secret bug-free" versions > of their software? <G> > > > > > > > "Chris Andrle" > > <andrle@localnet.co To: > <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> > m> cc: > > Sent by: Subject: > AS/400s Extinct at Microsoft > owner-midrange-l@mi > > drange.com > > > > > > 01/10/01 10:55 PM > > Please respond to > > MIDRANGE-L > > > > > > > > > Did I miss a discussion regarding this article?
