Um... Someone without a calendar that listed Mother's Day?

The date was selected before I was elected to the board, so I can't comment on
who picked it or why.

I do know that large convention sites are locked into the calendar years in
advance, so adjusting it plus or minus a week is no longer an option.

We do have a special one time deal, though, that we're hoping will alleviate the
problem in some households. Anyone who registers for the conference can register
one guest at no additional cost; we're waiving the $100 fee because of mother's
day. Bring mom with you to celebrate! There IS no better place for celebration,
IMHO, than New Orleans! If you've got ideas for things we can do to keep your
guest well-entertained, please send them...

If you truly want to spend the day at home, either because you're a mom or a
mom-supporter, we'll still be taking registrations Monday morning; skip the
opening session and join us for the rest of the conference. The meat and pototo
offerings are all during the week, so you'll just be missing a little fluff.
