I don't know who those "guys" are, but they need to wake up.  MQSeries is
(now) an IBM product.  Sockets go anywhere, and are certainly more "standard"
than MQSeries.  MQ was developed before there _were_ sockets on the AS/400.  
The only way I can envision MQ being better than sockets is that MQ has many
recovery abilities built in...sockets can be a little "iffy" in this regard.
