They branded it that way. There are three flavors to DB2... UDB for OS/400,
UDB for MVS and UDB for everything else. Each of these flavors are
developedy in different facilities.

For example, the OS/400 is done in Rochester and the UDB that goes
everywhere else is developed in Toronto.

I can tell you stories about those two places not communicating properly.
