Has anybody thought to do the math?  99.9999% uptime means a total of THIRTY 
SECONDS of unscheduled downtime per year (actually, 31 and change).  Even if 
it's only 99.999%, that's 5 minutes.  Even in the more forgiving case, that's 
only one or two unscheduled reboots a year.  If Microsoft wants to try and 
peddle that, that's their business, but you'd have to have never used a single 
Microsoft product to believe it.

OTOH, this would be a great ad campaign for IBM.

"Microsoft announces 99.9999% accuracy the day before their servers are down 
for 12 hours.  We all know that 99.9999% uptime is impossible, so why do they 
do try to claim it?  We all know there's no computer out there that's 99.9999%, 
or 99.999%, or even 99.99% reliable.  So what are they competing with?  Magic?

IBM iSeries: 99.98% uptime.
