I have a video tape I was going to advertise to sell on ebay, it is " Integration of visual Basic on AS/400 by Brian Singleton".

It is an excellent tool to learn VB from AS/400 point of view. It is completely hands-on, the trainer will walk you step by step and create a customer master file maintenance program.  If you are interested send me an individual email.
