| My story isn't as bad as it could have been. I 
worked for a county government. The Computer room was in the basement of the 
Court House. At the time, we were running  a System 38. In this same room, 
all of the plumbing for a 200 year old building converged over our heads. I 
often thought of what would happen if one of those 12" lines let loose. 
 Oh yea. As I remember it we had the 38, 4 3370 disk 
drive units, the big tape drive ( I can't remember the model number), 2 line 
printers and 4 people. Not to mention the entire tape library. So much for 
offsite storage. This was in a 20'x20' room.  Not Fun |
