In a reverse scenario of this, a colleague told me once that some Germans were visiting at their US subsidiary where he was working, and asked him to do up a simple type query on a couple of files. But all the field names and text were all in German, and he couldn't understand anything. He even checked the "free translations" on the Net, which were absolutely totally useless, he said, for understanding anything, he thinks due to the fact that abbreviations are always used and the quality of translator software for the task. He finally went to them and said he couldn't do it! I would've pushed ahead I think, analyzing programs where the fies were used and how they're titled in display files in any English-user-interfaced situation, etc. etc. (as long as they want to pay the time), but didn't ask him about that. - Alan ----- Original Message ----- From: York, Albert <albert.york@nissan-usa.com> To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> Sent: Monday, April 02, 2001 7:26 PM Subject: RE: Multilanguage (Was V5 availability) > I came across an RPG program once that was written in German.
