wow that's wierd.  I didn't get a chance to read my previous email's from 
the list but I just saw the same type of message answered.

Maybe the duplicate questions about the system task have something to do 
with sunspot activity.......................

I am seeing this task ( SMPOL00 ) in some system performance reports.  Of 
course it is right at the top of the list. 
I was wondering if anyone knows what this system task is for. 
I am guessing the SM is for storage management, and the 00 is the number 
of the task.
