I promised I wouldn't reply to this list since I'm usually wrong but... To do it yourself, download the RFC for the MIME format: http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/rfc/rfc2045.html and the specs in the header field: http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/rfc/rfc2183.html or, buy a program to do this for you. I was evaluating a number of AS/400 e-mail packages, and a few of them would detach attachments into separate files. Keyesmail being the one I remember. If you do decide to write your own MIME detacher, may I request you make it public domain? That's the only reason I haven't written my own e-mail program for the AS/400 yet, the MIME extraction is the biggest part. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. - ------_=_NextPart_001_01C0C690.BE917D50 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1252" Does anyone have a routine for retrieving the attachment for an e-mail sent to the AS/400? We have setup an e-mail address to receive a CSV file (as an attachment) to our AS/400 - the e-mail gets recieved into /qtcptmm/mail/csv_user/. I'd like a program to be able to read thru the e-mail (the e-mail is a file and is usually named something like "JW072019.NOT") and copy the attachment and create an actual IFS file from it. When I look at the .NOT file, I can see all the data in there but it looks like it's formatted a special way because each line only goes to 64 characters and then there is usually an equal sign and then it's wrapped to the next line. So, I can't just read it straight in and then write it out. Also, I haven't figured out how to know where to start and stop reading. Just wondered if anyone had done anything like this yet?
