Steve, Have you ever tried Eudora ... it does #1,2, & 3. It may do #4, but I haven't had to use it for this (no SPAM here). More importantly, it manages multiple eMail accounts effortlessly. For an independent like you, you probably have eMail accounts for multiple customers. I have 15 different eMail accounts defined within Eudora. It checks 12 of them every 5 minutes ... the other three are "bulk eMail accounts" (like this one) that I check only once a day or so. Hope this helps ...
