Check the archives of MIDRANGE_L & BPCS_L.
Almost this exact same topic came up within the last 2 months.
Someone cited a 3rd party product that intercepted stream of data between 
screens & software so that you got the end result you wanted without having 
to change the software, which can be a pain when the next SSA version comes 
out.

One problem for BPCS users on Version 6 is that SSA ships BPCS without the 
source code for the actual software.  Instead there is this "attempt at a 
CASE tool" called AS/Set.  And if you are into e-commerce, there are other 
layers between you & the real source code.
