Hi Folks, I have a customer who has loaded an HP PCL macro into their Kyocera printer, which is emulating an HP6. They would like spool files printed on this printer to use the macro. They're V4R4 and afaik up-to-date on PTF's. The problem is that the macro is apparently never executed, that is, the data in the spool file is printed without the overlay. Here's what I've done so far: I retrieved the *WSCST source for an *HP6 and modified the :INITPRT (start of print job) tag data to contain <esc>&f1y4X (this enables macro 1 for overlaying on each page -- the macro has been saved as a permanent macro with ID 1). 0038.00 :INITPRT 0039.00 DATA ='1B451B266631793458'X. And I modified the :RESETPRT (end of print job) tag data to contain <esc>&f5X: 0040.00 :RESETPRT 0041.00 DATA ='1B451B26663558'X. which I compiled with CRTWSCST. The remote outq was created with: CRTOUTQ OUTQ(HS#LIBR/ERPRT) RMTSYS(ERPRT) RMTPRTQ(KYOCERA) CNNTYPE(*IP) DESTTYPE(*OTHER) MFRTYPMDL(*WCST) WSCST(HS#LIBR/ERPRT) TEXT('ER Kyocera printer emulating HP6') DSPDTA(*YES) I tried adding an <esc>Y and the resulting dump shows that the printer is receiving the initialization string I entered, but it is followed by a lot of other PCL commands (which in fact run off the page so I can't see them all). My theory is that one of these is somehow disabling the macros, but I don't see anything in what I can see of the printer data stream, and I don't see anything in the source for the work station customization object. The customer is able to copy a file to the printer using DOS with the PCL commands: <esc>&f1y4X <esc>*p0x2114Y -LINE PRINTING STARTS HERE- which works fine. The additional <esc>*p0x2114Y simply positions the print cursor. Any ideas what I'm missing?
