I remember at one of my first COMMONs (1989???) I asked John if he had a
minute for a question. He said Not just then, but then he asked if I
would be at CUDS that night.  He searched me out and I got the answers
to my questions (and more!) and then we talked about airplanes for about
an hour, small planes- Cessnas and Pipers and such. His knowledge goes
WAAAY beyond OS/400.  He will be missed.

  Indeed. He deserves it as much as any other for sure. From who else
can you get E.F. Codd's data base rules in all their gory detail!

  Alas, I fear not as he is not listed as a Speaker at COMMON.

  I too wish him well in the next chapter of his life.
