Whether this helps or not... Excel easily imports Tab delimited records
from a flat text file.

It is also quit easy for an Excel macro to read the file through
NetServer/400 after you create the file with the CPYTOPCD command. The
macro can also filter and/or parse the data into desired worksheet ranges.

Also... You should look into the CPYTOSTMF command and consider using it
instead of CPYTOPCD.

Hi all,

If I want to automate the transfer of a database file from our AS/400 into
an excel file on a folder how do I get the transfer command 'CPYTOPCD' to
translate into an Excel File like you can do on the Client access file
transfer....
