RE: CL & SQL

1)  I was under the impression that RUNSQLSTM only worked on a machine with
SQL installed on it.  While other tools which uses existing QM queries
neither require SQL to use, nor create the QMQRYies.
2)  I believe that with V5R1 RUNSQLSTM will be available with the OS.
3)  Even though IBM is now giving you all compilers, development tools,
CODE/400, and a plethora of other stuff when you purchase a limited set of
these tools they still aren't throwing in the full SQL.  I guess if you
want free SQL you'll have to: use SQL-CLI,  roll your own with QMQRY, or
use the graphical Operations Navigator.

(The tool set bundle comes as long as you have 1 compiler and the
application development tool set).

I've run into a problem using Query Manager under V4R5.  I've created a few
routines that use the replacement variable feature of QM prior releases but
now I get a run time error that references a problem Local and Global
variable.  Any ideas regarding the problem?

PS thanks for the RUNSQLSTM command tip.  I've been using SQL on the 400
since 81, I guess even an old dog like myself can learn new tricks.
