Hello Matthias,

Investigate the SFLMODE keyword.  That will tell you whether the SFL is 
currently in DROPped or FOLDed mode.  Specify both SFLDROP and SFLFOLD keywords 
conditioned with mutually exclusive indicators (e.g., 11 and N11).  Just before 
you EXFMT (or write) the subfile control record, test the varaiable associated 
with SFLMODE and set the conditioning indicator appropriately.
