David,

When you create the share you have to choose read-only of write access.

Have you checked these values?

Nathan

Subject: Network shared folders authority problem

I am having trouble when mapping drives from my Windows machines to shares
on my AS/400.

I can see the folders on the AS/400. I can open them. I can go into them.
I can open the documents in them. What I can't do is create new documents
or update existing documents.

For example, if I go to my As/400, then into share HOME, then into a
subdirectory, I can't create any new objects (like a new text document, for
example). Nor can I copy an existing document.

It seems the only way I can do this is via Operations Navigator, signed on
as QSECOFR. I can't even do this when signed on to the PC and the NT
network as QSECOFR (and the passwords to match up, by the way...).

I could swear that this worked OK under v4r4. I am now on v4r5. I have
checked authorities in the IFS, both via green-screen and via ops navigator.
From what I can see, QSECOFR should be able to create things.

Any thoughts?? Perhaps it has to do with the NT domain??
