One of the reasons I've dropped QCMDEXC like a hot potato and use system()
exclusively.

Eric, QCMDEXC behaves the same as system() with respect to overrides.
The problem with using QCMDEXC to do overrides is when you've written
another wrapper procedure that actually calls QCMDEXC.  Then it's your
own procedure that introduces the new call level.
