Shelly Here's one way. We use the LDA to pass the dates to the program and the mapfld with %sst to extract the dates into the opnqryf statement. PGM DCL VAR(&PMLIST) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(118) DCL VAR(&FORMAT) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(1) RTVDTAARA DTAARA(*LDA (1 118)) RTNVAR(&PMLIST) OVRDBF FILE(APAPT) SHARE(*YES) CHGVAR VAR(&FORMAT) VALUE(%SST(&PMLIST 48 1)) IF COND(&FORMAT *EQ '1') THEN(DO) OPNQRYF FILE((APAPT)) QRYSLT('RAADAT=%RANGE(FRDT TODT)' KEYFLD((RAALOC) (RAADAT *ASCEND)) + MAPFLD((FRDT %SST(&PMLIST 95 12) *CHAR 12) + (TODT %SST(&PMLIST 107 12) *CHAR 12)) ENDDO Ron Hawkins >>I have been working with the open query file for about 3 months now and I >>was wondering if someone could send me an example of an opnqryf that has 2 >>variables that are dates that get passed into the program and also a field >>that will always be like say "SCM" . I would like to try the %range but I >>can't seem to get it to work.
