You may get VB Programmer's Journal...  They did an article on using XML to
do precisely that, a couple months back.

I hate to recommend the IGNITe folks (after the way they did me) but they
may, in fact, be doing something like this.  They lead the 400 arena in
e-business solutions.

I'm sure if the iNation had the money, David would be running this listserv
on a 400, maybe using Stalker, and doing just what you suggest.  I suggest
this, not because David is a member of the Freedom Council, but because this
should be a primary focus of the iNation.  Building up the 400 Community's
resources...  that primarily being COMMON.

I also suggest this because David and COMMON would probably be to ethical to
suggest it themselves.

This is a job for the list server software.

Members post msgs in whatever format they want.

Members enroll in the list and specify the format they want to receive the
msg in: as posted, without return receipt, as html but without the link back
to the sender, or as plain text.

The list server software converts from the posted msg format to the
requested format before sending to the list member.
