And although it sounds (and often is) abusive, it has come to be an "accepted" form or pointing out that the solution asked for is documented. By responding with a RFTM reference pointing out where the solution is, it lowers the traffic of asked/answered questions which could be looked up by the originator as quickly as the responder.
