You're thinking of 2 different magazines. "AS/400 Systems
Management", aka "Systems 3X/400", aka "Small Systems World", aka
"System/3 World" died with the Feb 1999 issue, as far as I can
determine.

The "Midrange Systems" tabloid was folded into "Enterprise
Systems" magazine sometime last year. Supposedly the AS/400 content
was to be included in an insert each month, but as far as I can tell
that lasted 1 month. About the only AS/400 content I've seen in
there lately are the ads at the back.

Couple these failures with the failure of MC and the incredible
shrinking News 400, and one would have to be trapped in an massive
reality distortion field to really think that the AS/400 market is as
string as it was 5 years ago. We're down to 2 competing journals,
and one of them is sponsored by IBM.

Look at some of the ads in those old magazines. How many of those
companies are still alive and well, and still in the midrange market?
