Hi Steve, We have a DBCS system (English u/l, Simplified Chinese) and exchange data with NT and Unix boxes w/o problems. Yes, DBCS support is part of OS/400, just order the languages you need. Note that your primary language must be DBCS. There's some good documentation available at http://www.iseries.ibm.com/developer/dbcs/index.html Best, Bernd Schfers ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Richter" <srichter@AutoCoder.com> To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 6:58 PM Subject: dbcs vs unicode > Anyone with knowledge of as400 dbcs support vs unicode on the unix and > windows platforms. > > Is the dbcs, code page support of the as400 anything like unicode? > > Are they compatible? > > Is as400 dbcs compatible with other platforms? > > When sending an email msg from the as400 or posting a web page, what > encoding method is best to use? > > I see that the unicode used in windows is just 1 version of unicode.
