Alan,

One of the fun things you'll have to come to grips with on V5R1 is that
whenever you start system service tools (STRSST) you will be prompted for
another user id and password. And even though you have a user profile
called QSECOFR that you can change with CHGUSRPRF, this has nothing to do
with the user profiles you can create for STRSST. These are stored in a
separate area of the system. For example I can sign on as ROB. When I do
a STRSST it will prompt me for the STRSST user id and password. Then I can
sign on (JUST TO STRSST) as QSECOFR and the password. And the password for
QSECOFR may be different than QSECOFR for regular 5250 and whatnot.

In summary, Robin's problem was not with regular security, but with STRSST
security.

If I understand what you are saying, and you are talking about a particular
user profile being disabled (and NOT QSECOFR) use QSECOFR to enable the
profile in question, and change the password at the same time. (CHGUSRPRF).

We've managed to enter the wrong password to enter SST for the QSECOFR
profile 3 times and it's now disabled the profile. Any idea how we can
re-enable it. The *user* profile for QSECOFR is fine and shows as
*ENABLED,
it's only the SST one that's locked out.

We can get into SST with other profiles.

Any ideas? A quick scan of the un-information centre wasn't fruitful.

Cheers
Robin
