There is some good material at http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/news/ this is the iSeries "in the news" for the year. I did catch on a training session on the etNetwork statellite, that 98% of the Fortune 100 run AS/400s. There also was some study earlier this year (Gardner or Aberdeen or someone rating the iSeries the "best " application server in the market today. Probably in ibm news or go to Gardner, etc & look from the studies. hth - jim ----- Original Message ----- From: <ehankins@purina.com> To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> Sent: Friday, August 10, 2001 4:21 PM Subject: Info on I-Series standing > In trying to dissuade mgmt thinking of OS400 as an old and fading > technology, I have been looking for information or figures on the > percentage of total I.S. > dollars spent for AS/400 I-Series hardware and software, vs. other > platforms. > > For example, 28 % spent on NT: 35 % on Unix; 15 % on OS390; 8 % > OS400 .
