I to had to do the same thing with the host table entry.  This is on 4.4.
This is on a 720/170/400.

I had the same problem recently with a V5R1 box.  Couldn't get the *ADMIN
server started no matter what I did.  I applied ALL the latest PTFs, etc..no
luck.

Finally,  I looked at the iSeries HOST and DOMAIN information and discovered
the problem.  Here's the solution that worked for me.
