XML parser

All,

I went through IBM's XML parser examples at
http://www.as400.ibm.com/developer/java/xml/documents/xml_rpg.html (RPG
version) and http://www.as400.ibm.com/developer/java/xml/db_xml.html (java
version) and by combining them I was able to get the java example working.

Their example requires you to have a file (MAPADDRESS in their example) with
the xml parentage defined and the column number in the target file
(ADDRESSBK).  Is that the right way to handle parsing XML?  Not only are you
maintaining a DTD, but you're maintaining a database file containing similar
info.

I'm interested to hear if anyone has done any xml parsing, and what your
thoughts are.  I will be starting a project soon where I may have a choice
between parsing a delimited flat file or an xml file.
