This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Can't claim the credit for this one, I got it from another email list I'm on, but it answers your question; Use the DSPDLONAM command to find the "system object name" of the document. For example, if the path shown on the client is /QDLS/MYFOLDER/MYSUBDIR/MYDOC, use the following statement: DSPDLONAM + DLO(MYDOC) + FLR(MYFOLDER/MYSUBDIR) + OBJCLS(*DOC) Several pieces of information should be displayed, including a system object name consisting of 10 characters and an auxiliary storage pool (ASP) ID. The system object name is the "real" name of the object in an AS/400 library. The library name is determined by the ASP. If the ASP ID is 1, the library name is simply QDOC. If the ASP ID is greater than 1, the library name takes the form QDOCnnnn, where nnnn represents the ASP. For example, if MYDOC is in ASP 2, the library name is QDOC0002. Once you've determined the system object name and library name, use the WRKOBJLCK command to display object locks on the document. For example: WRKOBJLCK + OBJ(QDOC/LNM1453888) + OBJTYPE(*DOC) Lock information should be displayed for any job that currently has the document open. Additional locks might be displayed. An important point to note is that a document need not be open nor the object be locked to be considered "in use." For example, there are other types of commonly used locking schemes, some as simple as setting a bit in a shared memory location. It would be difficult for a user to find such a "lock." And even when it's possible to see the lock, it may not be possible to determine the lock holder if no job information has been stored. I can not as the folder is in use. Is there a way that I can tell who is using the folder? WRKOBJLCK does not cut it. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. --
