Hello all, I have been trying to get to work the Conmvert Date and Time (QWCCVTDT) API Case 1. Where the INPUT format is *YYMD and the OUTPUT format is *DTS Case 2. Where the INPUT format is *DTS and the OUTPUT format is *LONJUL As everybody knows the *DTS format is a System time-stamp The notes of the API tell me that whenever the OUTPUT format is *DTS only the first 8 characters of the parameter are being used and It does not tell me what the length should be for the *DTS INPUT format I have done a number of things For Case1. Tried a Character Field 26 bytes long with the format YYYY-MM-DD-hh.mm.ss.uuuuuu For example September 14, 2001 at 12:25:45 pm looks something like this 2001-09-14-12.25.45.000000 (dashes and perios included) I have also tried a Character field 20 bytes long with the format YYYYMMDDhhmmssuuuuuu 20010914122545000000 (no dashes, no periods) For Case1 and Case 2. Tried a Character Field 8 bytes long with the format YYYYMMDDhhmmssuuu where byes 1-2 is an Integer = 2001, byte 3-3 is an integer = 09 byte 4-4 is an integer = 14, byte 5-5 is an integer = 12, byte 6-6 is an integer = 25, byte 7-7 is an integer = 45, and byte 8-8 is an integer = 000 Tried Signed and Unsigned Integers In all the prior scenarios I was not able to generate my conversions Could you please sprinkle some API magic to my RPGLE pgms and make them work Your advice will be greatly appreciated. After playing with the API and the *DTS format either INPUT or OUTPUT and going nowhere. I had to stop. tell the Midrange List the Story and ask for Advice Thank you in Advance Jorge Moreno Systems Analyst Woodbury, New York
