Thanks very much. Your post set the light bulp off! I'm using W2K. Here's what I did: Made sure the Ops Nav properties, Connection Tab, is set to Use Default user ID, prompt as needed, and that I supplied a VALID as/400 user id. It doesn't need to match my W2K user id and it doesn't need to be the one that I sign on with to the as/400 (because I can change it.) Once I've signed on I wont be prompted again (except at the 5250 screen). Whew. Thanks.
