If you open the GUI Designer, then click on the HELP menu item, you'll see
an entry for "Tutorial".  Click that menu item and you'll be prompted for
how to download a VARPG tutorial from IBM's website.

That's a good place to get started.

Another great resource is the IBM.Software.varpg newsgroup.
