Hi William,

It sounds like you've put the workstation entry in your new subsystem,
which is correct. If you look at the ADDWSE command, you'll see it
defaults to allocate at *SIGNON. I believe you ALSO have to put the same
workstation entries into QINTER with allocate at *ENTER. This should
explicitly prevent QINTER from grabbing those devices.

I got this info myself from this list a couple of months ago, so thankyou
to whoever that was (sorry, I've forgotten).

Hope this helps

I have added a couple of handheld scanning devices to our AS/400
network - they use 5250 emulation. I am able to give these devices
specific names - TRAKKER1 and TRAKKER2. I set up a separate subsystem
for them so that I could change the sign-on screen to fit their
smaller screen size. I put a generic workstation name entry into the
subsystem (TRAK*). I changed my startup program to start the new
scanner subsystem and placed that before the start of QINTER. I
changed the device descriptions to Online At IPL = *YES.

The problem I am having is that the devices do not always get attached
to the new scanner subsystem. Sometimes Scanner, sometimes Qinter -
Sometimes QINTER, sometimes Scanner. Has anybody had to solve this
problem before and can I get help?

Thanks
