Mark

The time is as defined on the command -

OPTION(*IMMED/*CNTRLD)
If *CNTRLD - specify DELAY(seconds).

If *IMMED, the system shuts down immediately and you will be kicked off
All jobs will end abnormally.

Best to use *CNTRLD with a delay time.
This allows jobs which monitor for job/system ending to end gracefully (fewer
joblogs etc).
Allow enough time for any batch jobs to complete.
Do not specify *NOLIMIT as the system will never end !

Not too sure what appears on the AS/400 control panel while shutiing down.
Probably not alot.
