Jeffrey, If I understand your question correctly, you are planning on an upgrade from a 720 to an 820, maintaining two RAID controllers and fifteen 4 GB drives on the 720 chassis as a migration tower. Once the 820 is up and running, you would use the dedicated service tools (DST) to pump the data from the 4 GB drives to the 8 GB drives, and then logically remove the drives from the configuration. That would then make them available for assignment to a partition. (This is overly simplified but true in spirit.) Check the Backup and Recovery manual for specific details on using DST to move data. Alternatively, once the system is running on the 820, you could perform two complete saves, partition the box, and restore the save to your 8 GB drives.
