Ditto here.  We disable first only because it is likely that they will want
someone setup "just like so-and-so" shortly after the other leaves.  With
the software we use (JDEdwards) it is much easier to setup a new user like
another and not reinvent the wheel each time.  About once a quarter, I will
go through and get a list of all user profile OBJECTS and look at the last
signon date.  If it is "old", I question the company responsible to let them
decided it's fate.

We usually just disable the user profile when someone leaves.  Then we
delete it after some time has passed (3 - 6 months, depending on when I get
around to it).  That way we can answer some of those questions that come up
after they are gone and still have some security.
