During an OS/400 upgrade you can watch this on the console (its as much
fun as watching paint dry), but it will spend 5 minutes looking at and
for tape devices for the D mode IPL, and then after that five minutes
are up, it will then start to look for your CD.  I don't know why it
spends 5 minutes, but I have noticed this behavior in upgrading to V4R4,
V4R5, and V5R1.  A true pain-in-the-butt when on a RISC machine you do
an upgrade 99.99% of the time with a CD.
